Mrs. Rosella Mattingly, 61, wife of Lloyd Mattingly, died Monday night, shortly after midnight at the home of her son, Sherman Mattingly, near Raywick. Death was due to complications and followed an illness of five years, during the last two of which she was confined to bed. Mrs. Mattingly was a native of this county, born October 16, 1883, a daughter of John B. and Laura Alvey Mattingly, both deceased, and was a member of the Catholic Church. Her marriage to Mr. Mattingly was solemnized a number of years ago. Twelve children were born to the union, four of whom survive, Leo, Sherman and Henry Mattingly and Mrs. Leo Miles, all of the western part of the county. Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Belle Brandy (Brady?) and Mrs. Kassie Knott, this county; and three brothers, William Mattingly of Illinois, Henry Mattingly of Loretto, and Owen Mattingly of St. Francis. Requiem Mass was intoned at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Francis Xavier Church at Raywick by the Rev. Richard O'Hare. Burial was in the church cemetery.
