Greta was orphaned at age five and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jensen of Highland Park, Ill. Mr. Jensen was a Dupont chemist who provided a privileged upbringing for Greta.

Widowed in her 30s, Greta moved to las Vegas to begin a new life in the West. She married Grant Cairns in 1968.

She is predeceased by her foster brother, Leif E. Jensen, and two daughters who died in childhood.

Greta is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kenneth Grant Cairns; a step-son, Kenneth Stephen Cairns II; and step-daughter Nancy Pace.
