September 1, 1911
Claude Barneburg, aged 7 years, son of Roy Barneburg, a ranchman, was run over and instantly killed by a water wagon near his father's house twelve miles east of the city on the Gonzales road yesterday afternoon. The boy was riding with a Mexican on a wagon used in hauling water for the Barneburg home, slipped and fell from the seat, and before the Mexican could stop the team, a wheel of the heavy wagon had passed over the boy's neck, crushing his life out. The funeral was held at 4 o'clock.
