Funeral services for Otto Eli Ader were held at Vivian, Monday December 16 with the Rev. Gene Reinhold officiating. A trio composed of Kay Howder, Janet Erickson and Darlene Juhnke sang, accompanied by Mrs. Amy Heath. Pallbearers were: John Hulce, Harold Hullinger, Everett Boyle, Mearl Hullnger, Lyle Hulce and Roy Kennedy. Interment was made in the Vivian Cemetery with Dotson Funeral Home, Pierre, in charge of arrangements. Otto Eil Ader was born October 19, 1885 at Princeton, MO, the sone of Eli and Lizzie Ader. He came with his parents to South Dakota in 1905, remaining in the Mount Vernon community for several years and employed at the A. J. Lugman farm. He then came west of the river and proved up a homestead south of Vivian, near the White River. On March 12, 1920, he was united in marriage to Eva Alice Scanlan. They moved to a farm southeast of Draper where they lived until moving into Vivian because of ill health. He passed away December 3. Survived, in addition to his widow, are one sister, Mrs. Pearl Hullinger, David City, Iowa, and one brother, Lonnie, of Daton, Ore. Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr and Mrs Roger Severyn, Mrs Katie Martin and Leland Martin, Sanator: Mr and Mrs Sanford Ader, Hot Springs, John Scanlan, Columbus, Neb. and Mrs Bonnie Marvin. Friends from out of town present were Mr and Mrs Art Luglan, Mt. Vernon: Mrs Ray Rankin, Mrs Floyd Fuoss, Mrs Rebecca Washburn, Draper and Frank Weaver, Pierre.
