Rites For Farmer Resident Held Tues.
Funeral services were held at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon for W.R. Bray, former Carnegie man, who died at an El Reno hospital late Sunday, Oct. 21. He had been in failing health for a number of years and had been seriously ill since June of this year.
Rev. G.c. Howard, pastor, conducted the services at the First Baptist church, assisted by Rev. J.M. Burrows, former pastor. Interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
Mr. Bray came to Carnegie in 1927 as freight clerk at the Rock Island station. About two years ago the family moved to Cashion where they have since lived.
W.B. Bray was born in Young county, Texas May 31, 1892 and died October 21, 1934, aged 42 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was converted at the age of 12 and united with the Baptist church.
He was united in marriage to Miss Essie Byrd June 28, 1912, four children being born to this union.
Besides his widow, he is survived by his sons, I.B. and Thomas Truett Bray and his two daughters, Mrs. Ula Cran and Miss Barbara Bray, of his own family; his father, two brothers, Charles and Elmer Bray of Graham, Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Hahn, Winfield, Kans. and Mrs. Copeland, Denton, Texas also survive.
He had many friends in this community where he was an active member of the Baptist church.
