Funeral rites for Mrs. Lois E. White, 86, widow of the late Rev. Eugene White, were held at Fairfield at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. White, a pioneer resident of Nebraska, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.J. Saunders, at Fairfield. Known to many as the wife of one of the earliest ministers who brought Sunday School and Sunday services to many a prairie school house or community hall in the horse and buggy days, Mrs. White since the death of her husband two years ago, made her home with her daughter at Fairfield. Rites were held Wednesday in the Congregational church. Besides the daughter at Fairfield, Mrs. White is survived by one son, Will White, also of Fairfield. – Clay County Sun
