Topeka State Journal Thursday June 2, 1977, pg. 26:
SABETHA - Services were today at Popkess Mortuary here for Floyd I. Baumgartner, 59, who was found dead Wednesday in his apartment at Atchison. Atchison County authorities said he apparently had a liver ailment and had been dead a few days.
He was born Feb. 20, 1918 at Seneca. He served in the Army 5 years and was a prisoner of the Japanese during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was employed in the maintenance dept. of the Turkey Processing Plant at Falls City, Neb.
He was married to the former Eleanor Huising. She survives. Other survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Mavis Stout and Catherine Baumgartner, both of Sabetha, Cynthia Baumgartner, Topeka, and Mrs. Arlene Wickham, Milford, Neb.; and 7 sons, Lloyd Baumgartner, Perry, James Baumgartner, Hamlin, Robert and Ralph Baumgartner, both of Morrill, Thomas Baumgartner, with the Navy in Hawaii, and Christopher and Danny Joe Baumgartner, both of Sabetha. Burial was in Sabetha Cemetery .
