Robert James Snyder, 68, of West Middlesex, died Tuesday, May 10, 1994 at Shenango Valley Medical Center, Farrell.
Mr. Snyder was born January 13, 1926 in Fairmount City, the son of Lowery Millard and Clara Della (Fisher) Snyder. He married the former Evelyn Sheesley on January 3, 1949.
He worked as an assistant speed operator at Sharon Steel Corp. of Sharon for 36 years, retiring in 1988. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theater. He was a member of James Stoner Post Veterans of Foreign Wars of West Middlesex.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Snyder; four daughters: Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Keso of Hermitage, Linda Snyder of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Russell (Jamie) Pair of Inyokem, Calif., and Mrs. Theodore (Janet) Brunette of Coraopolis; two sons: Boyd Snyder of Sharon, and Robert J. Snyder Jr . of West Middlesex; 12 grandchildren; and three brothers: Edward Lee Snyder of Freeport, Walter Snyder of Homer City, and Darl Snyder of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Bealuh Dept, Twila Bish and Lila Rankin.
Committal and services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the W. Wayne Cunningham Funeral Home of West Middlesex. Dr. John Kees will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
