Jean was the oldest of five children. During World War II she worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C., then joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps after earning her degree at the University of Minnesota.
She enjoyed being a full-time mother and was actively involved in her church. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Pat (Alan) Unander, Carol (Allan) Dalton, Beverly (Reiner) Rehbein and Priscilla (John) Eckhardt; her brothers, Bud (Norma), Mac (Marie), David (Lorna) and Paul (Norma) Kirk; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; and her parents, Arthur and Laura Kirk.
Arrangements entrusted to the Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton. Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church of Wheaton, 1310 N. Main St., Wheaton.
Interment private: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
