Linnie J. Jones was born on November 14, 1918 in Carthage, MS. and passed away on November 11, 2009 in Rayville, LA.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rayville and former teacher of the Rebecca Sunday School Class. She was a member of the FBC's Saints Alive and Bancorp South's Heritage Club. Mrs. Jones worked 51 years at Delta Sales in Rayville. She had many interest including fishing, both vegetable and flower gardening, reading, and travel. She especially enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land in Israel, which she did 13 times. Mrs. Jones enjoyed reading the Bible daily. She very much loved her family and took great pride in her family ancestry which included the great confederate solder, General Albert Sidney Johnston.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred Johnston and Clara Caldwell Johnston; husband, Albert Rankin Jones; brothers, Foster Johnston and Arnold Johnston.
Survivors include her only son and daughter-in-law, Will Edward and Phyllis Jones; grandchildren, Will E. Jones, Jr. and Marla Jones Brown McNamee; great-grandchildren, Sarah Brown, Lindsay Jones, Will E. Jones, III, Foster Jones, and Logan McNamee.
Pallbearers were Tommy Jones, Jim Adams, Myrt Hales, Jr., Grover Burgess, III, Mike Sullivan, and Mike King.
Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. David Thompson, Jerome Vascacu, Barry Collins, David Cater and the Deacons at the First Baptist Church of Rayville.
