MRS. HENRY SCHILLING

Laura Mae Hodson, daughter of David and Susana Hodson, was born Sept. 4, 1867, near Newbern, Iowa and passed away Dec. 18, 1951, at the Baker Nursing home at the age of 84 years, three months and 14 days. She had spent her entire lifetime in Lucas county.

ON Dec. 9, 1888, she was married to Henry Schilling. Six children blessed this union, two of whom preceded her in death. They were a daughter, Mrs. Nora Kinsey and the only son, Harry Francis Schilling.

Those who survive, with their father, are Mrs. Myrtle Dillman of Chariton; Mrs. Ethel Collins of Des Moines; Mrs. Fern Scott of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Clara Dudley of Detroit, Mich. Also 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, two brothers, David and Earl Hodson, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

At an early age Mrs. Schilling joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Newbern and remained faithful to her Saviour.

Funeral services were held at the Miley Funeral home Friday, Dec. 21, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert Swick, of the Methodist church, officiated and burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.

Mrs. Leo Hough and Margaret Bowen sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Whispering Hope." Casket bearers were George and Harry Kinsey, Ralph Krutsinger, Harold Timmerman, V. R. and Loren Schilling.
