Mrs. Barton died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 1995, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1902, in Lomita, Tex., the daughter of William Porter and Emma Jerusa Brown Stockton. She grew up in California and was a chief telephone operator for the Los Angeles County Hospitals for 39 years. She moved to Lawrence in 1983. She was member of the First Christian Church in Lawrence.
She married John Russell Barton on Oct. 6, 1928, in Glendale, Calif. He died in 1971.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Baker, Lawrence; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
