Alice M. Akerstrom, 97, Topeka, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born May 9, 1904, in Ontario, the daughter of Armour F. and Minerva Virginia Hall Lynde. She lived the first six years of her life in a sod house near Weskan before she moved with her family to Rossville, where she graduated from high school. She lived in Denver from 1946 until she moved to Topeka in 1974.
She married George G. Akerstrom on Nov. 28, 1925, in Topeka. He died June 19, 1979.
Survivors include a sister, Ernestine Nowlan, Topeka.
Graveside services at Mount Hope Cemetery will be private.
