SAREPTA, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Lilla A. Giles, age 97, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Springhill with Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Mrs. Giles, a lifelong resident of this area, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Cullen, LA. She was a retired nurse's aide having worked at Fountain View Nursing home for 20 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Otto Giles, Sr.; son, Jimmie Giles; sister, Madie Wisinger; brother, Raymond Alexander and her parents, Charles C. and Dassie Bell Endsley Alexander.
She is survived by her children, Tommie Giles and wife, Lenora; Gennett King; Jack Giles and wife, Joyce; Patsy Riley; Delores Hart and husband, Wayne; Dottie Segebarth and husband, Tim and Doyle Giles and wife, Sue; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Giles, Kenny Wells, Eddie Godwin, Wayne Tyson, Billy J. Riley, Sr. and Bruce Riley.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 4 at Bailey Mortuary.
