A. Jean Goudreau Kaylor, 83, was a sassy, sexy, spitfire of a woman who lived life to its fullest until after foregoing further kidney dialysis, her body simply worn out.
Goudreau-Kaylor was born and raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a twin, and one of seven children. She met her husband, the late Martin Goudreau, when she was singing in a nightclub during WW II and he was on shore leave. They made eye contact, a 37-year marriage and three great children: Beverly, Jerry and Rosemary.
A job at Jim Walter Corp. brought the Goudreaus to Tampa's Town 'n Country in 1968. With kids in high school, Jean became a nurse to help pay college costs. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Bucs and bowling with friends at Crown and Regal Lanes.
Widowed in 1983, Jean later married George Kaylor. They lived in Fountainview Estates, where they were active in the homeowner's association and their respective churches. He preceded her in death. Goudreau-Kaylor is survived by her daughter Beverly Werts and husband, Bill; daughter Rosemary and husband Mark Stang; son Jerry Goudreau and wife, Pam; and grandsons Christopher and Ryan Goudreau. Jean also leaves behind many good friends, many extended family members and a big rip in the universe.
