Melvin Ray Phillips was a mechanic and had lived in Graham, Texas most of his life. He was a member of the Church of God and served with the U.S. Armed forces during World War II.
Survived by his wife; three daughters - Mrs. Bonnie Gathings, Mrs. Glenda Coker, Barbara Phillips; one son - Wayne Phillips; his mother; four sisters - Mrs. Neta Echols, Mrs. Opal Youngblood, Mrs. Veda Fields, Mrs. Patsy Kcndrick; two grandchildren.
