Her older sister, Ebbie, died of tuberculosis in 1911 at the age of 25. Tragedy struck the family yet again in 1913 when Pearl's 9-year-old half-brother, Elmer, was struck and killed by lightning.
Pearl married Charles Andrew "Charlie" Rulo on 24 May 1914 in Lonedell, Franklin County, Missouri. They were the parents of 3 children. The family lived in rural Potosi, Washington County, Missouri. He did farm work and was employed by the WPA for a time.
Charlie suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died in 1955 at the age of 66.
Pearl lived until 1973. At the time of her death, she was 83 years, 1 month and 27 days old.
She was survived by 3 daughters; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 8 half-brothers and half-sisters; and extended family members. [Note: Tom Rulo was listed in her obituary as a surviving son.]
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband; her mother; her father and step-mother; her older sister, Ebbie; 3 half-brothers, Dudley Bailey, Henry Bailey, Gus Bailey and Elmer Bailey; and 1 half-sister, Lillie Fea.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on the afternoon of 24 Apr 1973 at Collier's Funeral Home in St. Ann, Missouri.
