Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, George Denzel Cope, DDS, age 85, passed away October 10, 1998, in Salt Lake City.

George was born March 20, 1913, in Richfield, Utah, the son of George Michael and Geneva Cox Cope.

He married Evelyn Sorensen Jensen on January 5, 1942, in the Manti, LDS Temple.

He served his country in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War, advancing from PFC at the beginning of World War II to Bird Colonel upon military retirement.

George was a graduate of Snow College, Ephriam, Utah.

He attended the University of Utah and received a BS and a DDS from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1947.

He obtained the Dean Grubb Award for the highest scholastic achievement in his graduating class.

He practiced dentistry in Ephriam, Utah and in Salt Lake City.

He is a life member of the American Dental Association.

George was a kind and loving individual who was respected and admired by those who knew him.

He always credited his accomplishments in his life to the great blessings of the Lord.

As a faithful life-time member of the LDS Church, he loved the Lord and always tried to align his life with the Savior's.

His passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Sorensen Jensen, of Salt Lake City; three sons, Stephen Craig (Norma); Chreston W. (Helen), Salt Lake Cit; and John A. (Laurie), Maryland; and three daughters: Barbara Glick (Nathan), Lori DeGraffenried (Charles), Salt Lake City; and Evelyn Suzanne Ulbrich (Ronald G.), Santa Fe, NM; brothers: Robert L. (Fern), Salt Lake City; James C. (Carma), Hanford, CA; Frank A. Cope, Orem; and Richard L. (Joan), Glendora, CA; sister, Georgia Mae Anderson Glenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, George Michael Cope, Jr., two brothers, Thomas Keith and Edward Lane, and one sister, Melba Hoyt.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 1998, 1 p.m., at the Fairmont Ward, 2465 South 800 East.

Friends may call Wednesday evening, from 7 to 9 pm, at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
