Noah L. Haines, 86, of Waynesburg, R.D. 3, near Kirby, died at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 1970, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been seriously ill for the past four weeks.

He was born July 28, 1884, in Perry Township, near Mt. Morris, a son of Lewis and Jane Headlee Haines.

Mr. Haines spent nearly all of his life in Whiteley Township, where he was a well-known farmer and stock raiser.

He was a member of the Kirby United Methodist Church. His wife, Ocie John Haines, died July 4, 1960.

Surviving are one son, Leslie W. Haines, of Waynesburg, R.D. 3; one grandson, James Haines, of Waynesburg, R.D. 3; one granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Cowell, of Marietta, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Paula, Lori, and Michael Cowell; two brothers; Ira D. Haines, of Mt. Morris Star Route, Waynesburg; and Floyd G. Haines, of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends of Noah L. Haines, of Waynesburg, R.D. 3, (near Kirby) who died Friday, Aug. 7, 1970, will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Mariner and Milliken Funeral Home, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in charge of Rev. Floyd Kelley. Buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
