OBITUARY

Mrs. Martha B. SCHILLING, 84, of Hiawatha, Kans., died Monday afternoon, December 24, 1973, at the Brown County Infirmary, where she had been a resident since March of 1971. She was born in Topeka, October 12, 1889, the daughter of Albert and Catherine Dorei HERMAN, and came to Brown County as an infant with her parents, where they lived at Reserve. Later they moved to the Hiawatha community where she was married to John A. SCHILLING, Sr., on March 14, 1914. Mr. SCHILLING died in April of 1971. She was a member of the Bethany Unitd Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, George H. SCHILLING of Hiawatha, and John A. SCHILLING, Jr., of Route 5, Hiawatha; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Mary) CUMMINGS of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. G. E. (Nell) McMAHON of Mandeville, La.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Meek Mortuary Chapel at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 27, with the Rev. R. T. Wentling officiating. Interment will be at the Hiawatha Cemetery.
