Charles W. Hartman, 62, Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 30, in Veteran's Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born March 19, 1919, in Missouri to Arthur and Annamae Jackson Hartman.

He was a painter, retiring in 1978. He was a member of First Christian Church, Burlington; VFW Post 30; Elks Lodge and Disabled American Veterans, all in Kansas City. He was a World War II veteran.

Surviving a son, David; brother, Norman G. Hartman, Burlington.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Giles-Elliot Funeral Home, the Rev. David Seitz; Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.
