Many records indicate she married Edgar Reagle/s in or around 1909. The date may be earlier. Her daughter Julia was born in 1908. Other children born to the couple included Elgie in 1909, Dyle in 1910, Dwight in 1913, Reita in 1914, Edgar Jr in 1916, and William Faye in 1918.
In 1913 the young family moved from southern Wisconsin to northern Wisconsin, near Chelsea and Whittlesey, north of Medford. Family lore indicates Edgar may have run off to Montana with the neighbor girl, Julia Hammar. In 1925 Rachel and her son Dyle were arrested for stealing a car; they stole it in Beloit and were caught in Fond du Lac on their way to their home in Escanaba, Michigan. Julia Hammar died in 1925. Edgar marries her sister, Adella Laura Hammar, in Spokane, Washington on 21 Mar 1928. When Edgar filed for divorce from Rachel in 1936 he was listed as deserting. The divorce was granted on 3 Sep 1937 in Sandpoint, Idaho/Spokane papers reporting.
After the family split up, Rachel and the children are found living in Janesville, Rock county, Wisconsin in 1931. The daughters married and the sons got into trouble during this time (Edgar and William Faye were both sentenced to time in the state reformatory in 1934; and of course Dyle had been in trouble as early as 1925 for stealing cars). By 1935 she had returned to Chelsea/Whittlesey in northern Wisconsin and in 1936 when the boys got out of prison they headed west to join their father in Idaho/Montana/Washington.
In Sep of 1937 Rachel and Edgar finally formally divorced (granted in Sandpoint, Idaho). That same month Rachel 's young daughter-in-law, Gladys, wife of Edgar Jr, came to stay with her in Wisconsin. In Jan of 1938, another of Rachel's sons, Dyle married and came back to Wisconsin with his bride Dorothy to live/run the farm in Whittlesey. Then Edgar Jr's wife had a baby daughter, Gloria or Floria in April of 1938 and while Rachel was attending the funeral of her son-in-law Max Burrmann in June, her granddaughter died. Disruption must have followed because Dyle and his wife are no longer on the farm in 1940; instead, a James Gorichs is living with Rachel as a handyman; he is listed as a widower and so is she, but both are married with living spouses or x-spouses. Edgar Jr's wife returned to Idaho and filed for divorce in 1941, and Rachel and James finally leave Wisconsin and get married (in Waukon, Iowa) in April of 1942.
At the end of their lives, Rachel and James were living in Washington state. They died within days of one another, James on the 24th and Rachel on the 30th of November, 1970.
