Del Burks, 84, a resident of Shelton for 51 years, died of natural causes Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, in his home. He was born May 26, 1911, Dayton, Wash., to Frank and Edith (Patrick) Burks. He attended school in Arbon Valley, Idaho. He also lived in Spokane and Pasco. He served in the Army during World War II, stationed in the European theater. Mr Burks worked as a carpenter for Hank Boysen Building Contractor and Glen Watson Building Contractor for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1694, Shelton. His interests were hunting, fishing, traveling to Reno and growing roses. Surviving Mr. Burks are four sisters, Juanita Berglund, Aberdeen, Wilma Martinson, Hoquiam, Emma Bruner, Paradise, Calif., and Frankie Pearson, Visalia, Calif. and numberous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Arbogast in 1987. A private graveside service was held for Mr. Burks. Burial followed in Shelton Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial donations be sent to your charity of choice. Arrangements are by McComb Funeral Home, Shelton
