Rolla Daily News, Rolla, MO Friday, June 2, 1961 (Front Page): "MRS. BOB SNEED PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 80"; Mrs. America June Snead passed away early this morning at the Waynesville General Hospital at the age of 80.

Mrs. Snead was born in Maries County, Missouri on June 4, 1880. She is survived by her husband, Bob Snead of the home, two daughters, Mamie Loughridge and Lula Guffey, both of Newburg, one sister, Mary Nelson of Maries County, one brother, Joseph Minzes, Maries County, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children.

Funeral Services will be held at the Kenney Church in Newburg at 2 p.m. on June 4th with the Reverand Larry Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Kenney Cemetery. Mrs. Snead will lie in state after 9 a.m. Saturday, June 3rd at the Lee Johnson Funeral Home Home at Newburg.
