Carol Dean Jacobs, 74, of Nederland, passed away on June 9, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born in Valliant, Oklahoma to the late Lennie and Madalee Sarah (Maddox) Jacobs on June 5, 1938. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.
He faithfully served his Lord and Savior as a minister and pastor for 58 years.
Dean is survived by his daughters: Joy Welch and husband Danny, of Lake Charles, LA.; Carol Evans and husband Pleas Alan of Orange, TX; Sandra McCauley and husband James of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Jason Welch and wife Meredith; Eric Welch; Elissa Evans; Pleas Jacob Evans and wife Ellie; Derrick Evans; Candice Richardson and husband Paul; George Anthony King; Beverly Laskowski and husband Daniel; Kimberly Palmer and husband William and by 4 great-grandchildren. Dean is also survived by sisters; Shirley Webber and husband Jerry of Norman, OK and Paulette Minshall and husband Ron of Oklahoma City, OK .
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Melba Jacobs, step-father T. C. Mooney.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Melancon's Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, in Nederland, with Rev. Walter Standers and Rev. Agy officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon's Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
