Sibyl Coiner Clements, 89, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Avante of Waynesboro.

Mrs. Clements was born in Augusta County on February 20, 1919, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Morris Coiner.

Sibyl was a lifetime and faithful member of the Hermitage Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and friends.

Surviving family include her husband, Harry Lee Clements; two sons, Calvin L. Clements and his wife, Carolyn, of Waynesboro, and Ronald E. Clements and his wife, Sylvia, of Grottoes; one daughter, Barbara C. Clark of Waynesboro; one brother, Carl Coiner; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver, Mary Long.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at the Hermitage Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Reverend H. Wray Sherman. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hermitage Presbyterian Church Renovation Fund, 46 Hildebrand Church Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
