Henry Jennings was the son of Laban and Elizabeth (Freeman) Jennings. By 1810 the family had moved from Virgina to Barren County, KY and by 1820 they were in Simpson County, KY. Henry was a brick mason. He and his son Josephus built chimneys in many homes in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky. He also had a school and taught writing to adults as well as children. He died in 1885 and is buried in a small cemetery "on Teal Cummings place" near Franklin, Kentucky.
