WYNOT-Mrs. Katherine Satorius, 82, lifelong resident of this vicinity except for the past few years, died Sunday afternoon [May 9, 1954] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Brown in Sioux City. She had been ill a long time.

Mrs. Satorius was born near St. James July 30, 1871. She was married to Chris Satorius at St. Helena May 25, 1892. They farmed east of St. James for many years until failing health forced them to retire. Mrs. Satorius had made her home with Mrs. Brown the past 12 years. Mr. Satorius died in Sioux City in 1944.

Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Bernice Hansen of Sioux City; two brothers and three sisters: H.P. Bergman of Sioux City; Joseph Bergman and Mrs. Albert Hirschman of Hartington, Mrs. Ed Kuehn of Howells, Nebr., and Mrs. M.P. Pearson of Newcastle.

Funeral services were held at St. James Catholic church Wednesday morning, with Rev. Godfrey Meiergard officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Glenn Bergman, Orville Asbra, Edward Asbra, Willis Pearson and Allan Hirschman, all nephews and Vance Hansen, a grandson.
