Caroline Frank, nee Nerge, daughter of John Nerge and Louisa Borchardt Nerge, was born Nov. 4, 1877 in Leroy Township, Bremer County, Iowa. Soon after her birth she was consecrated to God by the sacred act of holy baptism. She attended school and after receiving instruction in the fundamentals of Christian faith was confirmed at the Lutheran Church at Crane Creek by Pastor Meyer.
On Nov. 11, 1902 she was united in marriage with John Frank. This union was blessed with one son, Erwin, who survives but who is traveling and his present address could not be ascertained to notify him of his mother's death. The family lived at Sumner for six years. Mr. Frank being associated with his father in the meat market here. In 1908 they moved to New Salem, N.D., where Mr. Frank has been engaged in farming ever since.
About 10 years ago the departed submitted to a serious operation from which she never fully recovered. Her condition grew worse from year to year. Last fall she was taken to a sanitorium to be constantly under a Doctor's care. But the Lord willed it to relieve her from all suffering and last Thursday morning He called her to her heavenly home. She reached the age of 51 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Her death is mourned by her husband, her son, Erwin, four sisters; Mrs. Louisa Roewer, Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Minnie Geffert, Northfield, Minn.; Mrs. Mary Schnadt, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Sophie Tonne, near Sumner; three brothers, Herman Nerge, Canby, Minn.; Fred and John Nerge of this vicinity and many other relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.
