She was married to and reportedly divorced from William Clark.∼Her father Timothy Orton was killed in the battle of Lewisburg in the War of 1812. She married William Clark, They travelled west in 1839. He went to the Salt Lake region in 1850; she divorced him in Scott County in 1857 for bigamy. With William she had eight children, including one set of twins.
