Mrs. Frances Virginia Service, wife of James A. Service, and a well known resident in and near Ottawa for 50 years, died last night at 10:20 o'clock at the home, 207 S. Hickory Street. She had been in failing health for about six weeks, but was not considered seriously ill. Her death resulted from a heart attack which followed influenza.

The deceased was 71 years old. Frances Virginia Allison was born in California, near Carson City, Nevada, March 18, 1860, the daughter of Silas and Sarah (Tucker) Allison. At the age of 5 years she, with her parents, left California, making the trip from San Francisco by boat, crossing the Isthmus of Panama and locating at Lincoln, Illinois, where they lived for five years. The family then moved to Franklin County and in 1878 came to 203 S. Hickory Street in Ottawa, a property that remained in the Allison family for many years. With the exception of three years, when she lived near Richland, Missouri, Mrs. Service had lived in and near Ottawa all the remainder of her life.

Miss Allison was married to Mr. Service May 1, 1890, and six children were born to this union. The husband and the following sons and daughters survive: Harold A., Archie J.,
and Ralph Service all of Ottawa; Miss Zelma Mae Service of the home address, Miss Virginia Service of Emporia and Miss Ola Service of Kansas City. There are also five grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters of Mrs. Service: W.H. and S.E. Allison of Princeton; C.L. Allison and Mrs. Nelle Chambers, Ottawa; Harry W. Allison, Grand Valley, Colorado, Mr. A.M. McArthur, San Luis Obispo, California and Mrs. James Hamblin, Modesto, California.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the Lamb Funeral home at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. G.C. Flannery of the First Christian Church is to officiate. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery.
