Edna Elizabeth Knopp, 79, of Leon, WV, formerly of Peniel, died Tuesday, Jan 2 at her home following an extended illness. She was born March 7, 1921 in Gay, WV, a daughter of the late John and Effie Rhodes Nesselrotte.
She was a homemaker, wonderful mother and grandmother, and a memner of Baber-Agee Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert D. (Bill) Knopp, four brothers and two sisters. Surviving relatives include one son, Ronny D Knopp of Leon, WV; two daughters Carolyn Stalnaker of Marysville, CA and Shirley Short of Spencer, WV; two sisters, Dorothy O'Brien of Lincolnton, NC and Dora Ruth Laehon of Waco, TX; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Jan 5, at 1pm, in the John H Taylor Funeral Home in Spenser, WV with Rev. John Ellison officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Zion Cemetery, in Roane County. Friends may call at the furneral home from 6-9pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
