Delmer "DC" Burris, 89, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 29, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Born on November 17, 1920, in Hot Spring County, Ark., to Allie and Susan Angelynine Burris, DC's life centered around his heavenly father and his family. He was united in marriage to Bernice (Otts) Burris on December 16, 1941. He was a World War II Army veteran. DC was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice, of 65 years; their daughter, Carrie Lou Williams; and son-in-law, Larry Carruth. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Ann Carruth and Coy Wilson and husband, Bill; four grandchildren, Kevin Williams and wife, DeAnn, Kelley Adams and husband, J.T., Kimberly Hawkins and husband, Kevin, and Kent Carruth and wife, Dawn; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. DC owned and operated several glass and mirror buisnesses in Albuquerque, N.M. He served as president of the New Mexico Glass Dealers' Association and was also on the Board of Directors of the National Glass Dealers' Association. He was a member of Highland Assembly of God/Tramway Community Church for 40 years in Albuquerque, serving many of those years as Sunday School Superintendent and/or Deacon. DC was a member of Nixa First Assembly of God for the past 3 1/2 years in Nixa, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
