James W. "Jim" Aldridge, 87, of Utica died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at his home. He was born March 25, 1923, in Breckinridge County to the late Lon and Ethel Brown Aldridge. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernie Aldridge; a granddaughter, Roxann Aldridge; three brothers, Owen, Clyde and Jesse Aldridge; and three sisters, Mattie Thornhill, Nora Nottingham and Lilly Smith. He is survived by his wife of 66-1/2 years, Hazel "Reanie" Aldridge; two daughters, Patsy (Bobby) Lee and Joyce (the late Tommy) Lee; three sons, Larry (Jane) Aldridge, Bill (Janie) Aldridge and Wayne (Marilyn) Aldridge; 10 grandchildren, Robbie (Melinda) Lee, Roger (Cindy) Lee, Jamie (Heather) Lee, Tina (Bryan) Leachman, Jason (Melissa) Aldridge, Karri (Ronnie) Bobo, Crystal Aldridge, Mike Aldridge, Barry (Britney) Aldridge and Billy (Samantha) Aldridge; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Aldridge; two sisters, Cora Lindsey and Margaret Noble; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Utica Cemetery in Utica. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
