"The death of Mrs. Polly Campbell, aged 78 years, occurred at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon {September 29, 1914} at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Billups. Owing to her advanced age Mrs. Campbell had been in ill health for several years. She joined the Christian church at Eby when a girl and has been affiliated with it since. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. William Peak, Mrs. Charles Bolin and Mrs. J. Billups, and two sons, Jacob and Parvus {Purvis} Campbell, all residents of this county. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at Eby church, followed by interment in the Shiloh cemetery. Rev. Goodwin and Rev. D. P. Holt officiated."
