OBIT: August Schultheiss

August H. Schultheiss, 77, 3841 River Road, Fairfield, died Friday at 6:45am at his home.

He was born in Hamilton, a son of George L. and Barbara Harlieb Schultheisss. He married Bertha L. Johnson in Newport, Ky. in 1918.

Mr. Schultheiss, a tool and die maker, had owned and operated the Schultheiss Machine Co. at 828 Belle Ave. since 1942.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Active in Masonic work, Mr. Schultheiss was a member of Hugh L. Bates Lodge 686, Free and Accepted Masons, Chapter 21, RAM, Hamilton Commandery 41, Knights Templar, and others. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He leaves his wife; two sons, Merle David Schultheiss and Alvin Joseph Schultheiss, both of Fairfield; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Service will be Monday at 10am in the Klaus-Weigel Funeral Home, N. F St. at Elvin Ave. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be on Sunday from 5 to 8pm. Masonic services will be conducted Sunday at 7:30pm.

Those who desire may contribute to St. John's United Church of Christ or a favorite charity in Mr. Schultheiss' memory.
