She came to Fremont at the age of 2. She was raised in Fremont and lived there most of her life. She was a 1974 graduate of Fremont High School. She received an associates degree in business administration from Metropolitan Community College. She worked at Pendleton Woolen Mills in Fremont and Hammond and Stephens Co. in Fremont. In 1990, she started working for Metropolitan Community College in Omaha and then worked for Metropolitan Community College in Fremont as an office manager until 2002.
She was a former member and past president of Washington Elementary School PTA.
Survivors include: a son, Chris Hart (and wife, Crystal) of Fremont; her mother, Elaine (Murphy) Dather of Fremont; a brother, Gary Dather (and wife, Marilyn) of Fremont; three sisters, Vicky Mayhew (and husband, Herb) of Glenwood, Iowa, Debbie Lackey (and husband, Mike) of Fremont and Connie Dather-Sheffield of Fremont; her best friend, Bev Hart of Fremont; two grandchildren, Cameryn and Carter Hart of Fremont; and ex-husband, Jim Hart (and wife, Joanne) of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Dather.
She was a former member and past president of Washington Elementary School PTA.
