Final rites for an area pioneer, Mrs. Mattie J. BLACK, who came here as a young girl in 1912, will be held at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon in the Full Gospel Church.
Officiating will be the pastor, Rev. O. A. Busch, and an Apostolic Faith minister from Pampa, Rev. Robert Girouard.
Interment will be in Ochiltree Cemetery, directed by Boxwell Brothers.
Serving as Mrs. BLACK's pallbearers will be Wade HARRIS, Larry McLAIN, O. C. RICKARD, W. R. GREEVER, A. E. PARKOSKI and Earl LEWIS.
The widow of Tyson E. BLACK, Mrs. BLACK was born in Stamford October 26, 1897. For many years, she was dietitian at Perryton Hospital, where she died at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday. Her home was at 218 South Birch.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Jane) McGARRAUGH and Mrs. Russell (Betty Jo) POWELL both of Perryton, Mrs. Kenneth (Johnnie) COLLINGSWORTH of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Mrs. J. C. (Patsy) HYATT of Dallas; one son, Albert Lee BLACK of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. J. A. BRUCE of Spearman; one brother, Bill GROFT of Jacksonville, and ten grandchildren.
