George Andrew Jackson (A.J.) GOFF, born 1858 in Gallatin, Cherokee Co., Texas. He died at age 65. Moved in the late 1880's with his brother William Tell GOFF to Indian Territory (became Garvin Co. Oklahoma) A.J. opened a succesful Merchantile Store. He married Mattie C. CARLISLE on 29 Jul 1895 in Noble Co. Oklahoma, & did not have children. When his wife died her family had her body sent back to Indiana. Off & on several of A.J.'s family moved to Garvin County to work for him but returned to Texas or moved on west.
