She married Alvin Cramer after the death of her sister Susannah. After his death she married John Harris.
--------------------------------------------
France Virginia Fouty Cramer Harris is my mother's grandmother. Alven/Alvin Cramer was married to Susanah Fouty and she died in Aug 1871. Frances married him in Oct 1871, presumably to care for Alven & Susanah's children. The 3 little boys Frances and Alven had together died between 1875 and 1879. Alven also died in 1879 - their graves are at Bethel Cemetery south of Yale. Frances later gave birth to James G Cramer in 1881 and Nellie Olive Cramer in 1885. No birth records can be found. She married John Harris in 1887 and he made her give up James to her brother Amos Fouty to raise, most likely because of James' illegitimacy. The story of him going to his uncle's and his mistreatment by Amos' wife is an oral history which was told to my mother and her siblings.
