Born March 28, 1923 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Leroy and Mary (Carol) Angle, both deceased. She married Manley H. Abercrombie Oct. 11, 1956; he preceded her in death May 14, 1998.
Mrs. Abercrombie had owned and helped operate Abercrombie Jewelry in Rushville for several years. She was a member of Main Street Christian Church, treasurer and board member many years with the Rushville Salvation Army, and a 1940 graduate of New Salem High School. She had been active in the Rushville BPW and the Senior Citizens Center, where she was honored a few times with the Volunteer of the Year award.
Survivors include son, Frank H. (Connie) Abercrombie of Carmel; daughter, Ann (Sam) Hall of Indianapolis; brother, Lowell (Louise) Angle of Rush County; grandchildren, Angie (Kent) Koon of Danville, Frank A. Abercrombie of Danville and Susan Snider of Brownsburg; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Maurice and Russell.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Phil Mitchell and the Rev. Sam Davenport officiating. Entombment will be in Rushville's East Hill Shrine Mausoleum. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Cancer fund c/o the RCCF, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Toys for Tots.
