To the very best of my research this is the biography for her: She was born Oct 6, 1830 in Georgia to Isaiah Smith and Elizabeth Grice. Siblings are: Henry, Elizabeth, Moses, Jonathan, Lydia, Joshua, Josiah, William, Temperance, David, Isaiah, and John.
I believe the original spelling of her name was Keziah, for which I believe was also the name of her mother's mother. The name Keziah is biblical, the name of Job's second daughter.
I believe she married William Teal Jan 15, 1850 Barbour County, Alabama; her name is spelled: Kessiar Smith on that list.
On the 1850 census she is listed as Keziah Teel. She and William are living in Barbour County, Alabama with a 3 year old child named Amanda Teel. Keziah's parents and siblings live in the same area.
On the 1860 census she is listed as Keziah Teal. She and William are living in Barbour, Alabama with the following children: Jane, John, Elizabeth, William, James, and Benjamin.
I found a marriage record for Rinah Teal in Barbour County, Alabama on May 20, 1871 to John Newland. I could not find Keziah anywhere in 1870 census records and have no idea what became of William Teal.
On the 1880 census I find Kisire Nulon listed as widowed and the head of household, in Camp County, Tx with the following children: Joshuoway Nulon age 7, Benjamin Teal age 1860, and Emma Teal age 12. I have no idea when or where John Newland passed away.
On the 1900 census she is listed as Kissiah Newland and resides in Tarrant County, Texas with her son Thomas N. Newland as the head of household along with his wife Mary and their son John.
