RETIRED RAILROADER DIES AT GIBSON CITY

GIBSON CITY, May 14 - - D. E. Adams, 65, died at the family apartment in the Butler building late Tuesday night following a stroke of paralysis which he suffered about a week ago. He had been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Adams was born Nov. 29, 1865, at Lexington and when about 15 years old began railroading. For 28 years he was in the employ of the Lake Erie and Western railway, his run passing through this city for many years when he was a baggageman on that road. He married Miss Eva M. Riggs at Bloomington in 1885.
After retiring from the railroad service Mr. Adams was a traveling salesman for two years, and then entered the restaurant business in St. Louis, which he conducted for 18 years. In September, 1930, he and his wife removed to Gibson City.
Besides his widow he is survived by their son, Harry S. Adams of Indianapolis, Ind., and one granddaughter, Murial Adams, who is a student at Butler college, Indianapolis.
The funeral was held Thursday at 2:30 p. m. in W. S. Lamb's chapel in charge of the Rev. Albert H. Flagge, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Saybrook
