Mrs. Horace Reed, widow of the late Dr. Horace Reed, died at 11 o'clock on Friday morning in the home of her daughter, Miss Luella Reed of Louisville, Ky. The news of her death was telephoned to her daughter, Mrs. R. W. Sanner of Decatur late Friday morning.

Mrs. Reed went to Louisville in December to be with her daughter. She had been ill for the last two weeks but during the last few days had shown considerable improvement. She had a sudden relapse early Friday morning and became rapidly worse, dying at 11 o'clock of hardening of the arteries. She was 68 years old and had lived in Decatur since 1899. Her husband died in November.

She leaves four children, one son, Clarence Reed of Palo Alto, Cal. and three daughters, Miss Luella Reed of Louisville, Ky, Mrs. George R. Coffman of Missoula, Mont. and Mrs. Roy W. Sanner, 1505 N. College street. She also leaves two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Johnson of New Jersey and Mrs. John Shaw of Florence, Kan.

Mrs. Reed was formerly Miss Anna Mapes. She was married to Dr. Horace Reed in Centralia, Feb. 20, 1867. She came to Decatur in 1874 when Dr. Reed first became pastor of the First Methodist church. They remained two years, left Decatur and again returned when Dr. Reed became superintendent of the Decatur District of the Methodist church in 1899.

Miss Luella Reed will leave Louisville this morning with the boy of Mrs. Reed and will be met at Centralia, Ill, by Roy W. Sanner of Decatur. They will reach Decatur at 7:30 and the body will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sanner.

Funeral services probably will be conducted Tuesday afternoon in the home of the daughter, Mrs.Roy Sanner. Burial will be in Greenwood.
