Mary Lois Kenan married Oliver Loving on 17 March 1884 at Seymour, Texas. After her marriage, Mary Lois lived on the Loving Ranch at Lost Valley in Jack County, Texas. The couple lived west of the town of Jermyn. To this union four children were born: James William Loving, Mary Ellen Loving, Oliver Loving, Jr., Lois Kenan Loving.

Services for Oliver Loving, 77, prominent cattleman and banker in Young and Jack Counties for many years in Graham were at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.S. Graham.

Rev. R.J. LaPrade, Methodist pastor, officiated the services. He was buried at the Oak Grove cemetery beside his wife.

Oliver Loving was the son of the late James C. Loving, one of the principal organizers and former secretary of Cattle Raiser's Association. He was the grandson of famed cattle drover, Oliver Loving, who all will remember played a prominent part in the development of this section of Texas with the Loving - Goodnight trail.

Loving had been in the cattle, banking and land business in Jack and Young Counties for the greatest portion of his life. He was the owner of the Loving Banking company, one of the few private banks in Texas with branches at Jermyn, Jacksboro and Graham.

Loving is survived by two daughters - Mrs. E.S. Graham of Graham and Mrs. Roy Jackson of Corpus Christi.

Oliver Loving grew up in the atmosphere of Indian raids. He had a good education and was a business minded man. Oliver Loving was a member of a pioneer family with ranching and business interests of Northwest Texas for four generations. Oliver Loving had his own ranch holdings at the age of 21 years. He owned 60,000 fenced acres called the Loving Pasture.

The family has stated Oliver Loving, II had no middle name.

The descendants of Oliver Loving explained that as a young man, he was Oliver Loving, II. Once he had children and a son, he named Oliver Loving, he changed his name to Oliver Loving, Sr so his son could be Oliver Loving, Jr.

The firm of Oliver Loving & Company, Bankers, at Jermyn closed and discontinued operated on 31 December 1938. The accounts of depositors were transferred to First National Bank of Jacksboro and the First National Bank of Graham. Liquidation will be carried on from its offices in Jermyn by John H. Tucker, cashier.

The bank was originally organized as the First State Bank of Jermyn, in July of 1910 with Oliver Loving as president and Will F. Suddeth as cashier.

In April 1913, the State Bank charter was relinquished and the firm of Oliver Loving and Company Bankers were organized to carry on the business. The original stockholders were Oliver Loving, J.W. Loving, W.H. Featherstone, J.W. Hopper [cashier], Barnum Garrett. Mr. Featherstone and Mr. Garrett sold their shares to Oliver Loving. John H. Tucker came to the Bank from Fort Worth on 15 May 1919, as a member of the firm and as cashier.

After graduation from A&M College in 1921, Oliver Loving, Jr, cam eto Jermyn and became a member of the firm, then composed of Oliver Loving, J.W. Loving and John H. Tucker.

Olive Loving and Sons had been associated with raising high grade Shorthorn cattle on the ranch surrounding the town of Jermyn. and through the efforts and generosity of Mr. Loving, the Gulf, Texas & Western Railroad was built through this section, and the town of Jermyn located on land donated by him.
