Noma was born June 16, 1906 in Floydada to Jonas and Nancy McPeak. Coming from a musical family, Noma played the guitar in a band when she was a young woman. She married Dan Adair June 16, 1932 in Plainview. He preceded her in death in 1989. She moved to Olton in 1942 from Spring, Texas. She was a homemaker and volunteered in the community in various capacities. She taught 4-H members how to sew and senior citizens how to paint with oils. Noma was named Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1978 and Pioneer Lady in 2002. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dwain Adair in 1935 and James Adair in 1989, seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Dale Adair and his wife, Marguerite of El Paso, seven grandchildren, Cynthia King and her husband, Johnny of Sudan, Danny Adair of Houston, Renee Guggisberg of Austin, Bill Adair and his wife, Lou of Plano, Lyretta Sultzer and her husband, Tom of Keller, Steve Adair of Littlefield, and Junior Adair and his wife, Kathy of El Paso. She was also blessed with ten great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, January 29, from 5 to 7:00 PM.
