Ervin Carl "Short" White, 79, died Tuesday at his Mountain Home residence.
Mr. White was a native Arkansan who was a lifetime resident of the area. He was born Jan. 10, 1903, at Bergman. He married Nancy Lou Davis April 21, 1929, at Lone Rock. Mr. White was a retired construction worker. He was a Protestant.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, John David White and Sarah Mayfield White and three sons.
Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Jimmy White of Buford and Kenneth White of Flippin; eight daughters, Burniece Ussery, Bernice Mantle, Martha Lee, Lorene Parker and Phyllis Kendall, all of Mountain Home, Imogene Markle of Cowiche, Wash., Alice Thorn of North Little Rock, and Nelta Thomas of Ozark, Mo.; one brother, Gene White of Lone Rock; one sister, Allie Smith of Wenatchee, Wash.; 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Thursday at Roller Chapel with the Rev. Troy Melton and Brother John McCormick officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery with Virgil Wilbur, Dean Martin, Jim Nowning, Marvin Bolding, James Smithson, and Tim Butler serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements were by Roller Funeral Home.
