Reva Lowe Rippon was the 2nd daughter born to Oussie Kingsford and Bertha Whitehead Lowe. She was born November 28, 1909 in Franklin, Idaho. Her older sister, LeOra, was 2 years old. She later had a younger sister, Retta.

When Reva was 5 years old, her mother, Bertha, died Feb. 23, 1915, giving birth to a baby boy. Bertha bled to death, and the baby died as well leaving three young girls and Oussie to fend for themselves.

Reva's father was driving the milk wagon leaving the care of the children to their Grandma Lowe and later Oussie's sister Belvia following the death of Belvia's husband.

On Feb 6,1918 Oussie married Syrena Kinney so the family was once more together with a mother 24 years of age. Reva attended school in Franklin with her sisters and helped with household chores at home on the farm.

Reva attended Utah State University, graduating in 1930 with a degree in education. She taught one year in Sunnyside, Utah.

She married Charles Stanley Rippon, Oct. 2, 1931 in Denver where they made their home. Charles was building dams for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, so Reva followed him to Wyoming, New Mexico, California, Nevada and finally Salt Lake City where his work took him.

Reva had three children: Yvonne, Charles Spencer, and Suzanne.

She was a loving wife, mother, teacher, and active member of the LDS Church. She was active in the Daughters of the Pioneers.

Charles died Feb. 20, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Reva died Jan. 2, 1996 in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, survived by two dughters, Yvonne Sears, Casper, Wyoming and Suzanne Vaughan, Aurora, Colorado. She had five grandchildren, David, Jeff, Rick, Becky, and Valerie, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were in the Monument Park 8th Ward Chapel Jan. 4, 1996. Interrment is in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
