Aaron Ray Greathouse, 61 of Rt. 3, Marion, was dead on arrival at Marion Memorial Hospital at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He had been in failing health and suffered a heart attack Tuesday morning.

Mr. Greathouse was born Jul 19, 1902 near Marion, the son of William and Mary Nolen Greathouse. He married the former Monita Clay at Carterville, Feb 14, 1926.

He was a construction worker and a member of the Hod Carriers Union Local 577, Herrin.

He leaves his wife, Monita; step-son, Henry Clay Choate of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sister Mrs. Elsie Millman of Argo.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Riggin Funeral Home, Carterville. The Rev. Glen Hock of Energy will officiate. Burial will be in old Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family has requested no flowers be sent.
