LeRoy Frank Drilling, 85, of Piper City, IL, died at 3:00 A. M., Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Piper City Rehab & Living Center, Piper City.
LeRoy's funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Piper City with Rev. Elizabeth Reis officiating.
Burial will be in the Brenton Cemetery, Piper City.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home.
Also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to a Memorial Fund established at the Piper City Rehab & Living Center.
LeRoy was born on January 23, 1925 in Piper City, IL to Frank Edward & Elizabeth (Attig) Drilling.
His childhood was spent in rural Piper City.
He attended Pine Tree School in rural Piper City and graduated from Piper City High School.
LeRoy married Izora Bernice Drilling on March 21, 1951 in Chatsworth, IL.
She died on September 24, 1999.
Surviving children - two sons- Jerry (Janice) Drilling of Piper City and Dan &(Donna) Drilling of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Special friend - Patsy Reynolds of Piper City. Five grandchildren - Jamie, Danielle, Derek Drilling, Jeff and Tim Roach. Seven great grandchildren.
Pre-decedents - parents, wife, brother - Alvin Drilling and sister - Anna Denniston.
LeRoy was a member of United Methodist Church in Piper City. He was a lifelong farmer.
LeRoy enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening.
